Discover a new way to take care of yourself! Our empowering self defense courses are designed to give you the fundamental skills for defending yourself in violent situations. You will have the opportunity to work with certified instructors who will teach you defense techniques through hands-on, simulated scenarios. 

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) System is dedicated to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense and martial arts tactics. The system begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance while progressing on to the basics of hands-on self-defense training. The R.A.D. System of physical defense is currently being taught at many colleges and universities. Note: Female students ages 12-15 must be accompanied by a registered female adult.

What is R.A.D.? How was the program developed?

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) System is a network of dedicated self-defense instructors across the United States and Canada that believes self-defense should be easy to learn, retain and employ during confrontational situations. Established in 1989, this alliance believes that self-defense training should be accessible and affordable for all individuals. The instructors believe their efforts to oppose violence will be more effective together, than as individuals.

Do you need prior experience to attend this class? Do you need to be in top physical shape to participate?

No. This program is designed for the average individual with no previous experience or background in physical skills training.

What is the cost of this program?

How long is this program?

The basic physical defense program is a minimum of nine hours spread across four days, occurring once a week. 

Can I bring my younger daughter with me?

Yes. It is very common for mothers and daughters to attend this program together. Young women from age 12 and up may attend. In addition to developing and enhancing their options of self-defense, it seems to be a great bonding experience for them.
